1:10 Scale Mercedes Unimog 6×6 RC Truck Looks Unstoppable

There are only a few vehicles in the world that have attained legendary status. The Unimog is one that started when the first models were introduced in 1947. In the realm of hardcore off-roaders, the Unimog is one of the best.

And that’s what makes this radio controlled model great. Manufactured by Axial, this 1:10 scale Unimog UMG10 6×6 not only looks like the real thing, it performs on par. Featured in a video uploaded by RC Jono, this three-axle truck can crawl through anything – just like a full-size Mercedes Unimog.

Built on Axial’s proven SCX10 II chassis, the RC is battery operated. You only need three things to get it going – a 7.4V 30+C 5000+mAh 2S LiPo Hardcase Battery with IC3 or EC3 Connector, a compatible charger, and four AA batteries for the transmitter.

When finished, the Unimog scale RC model uses a 35T waterproof brushed motor to charge forward and conquer anything in its path. It has adjustable coilover shock absorbers, a Tandem AR44 rear axle with a high-pinion design, universal link axles, and custom-spec wheels and tires – basically, everything a hardcore off-roader could need.

Better yet, the electronics in this model are all water-resistant, meaning action in snow and mud is achievable. Be careful wading into deep water, though we wouldn’t be surprised if we could. If there’s one word to describe this RC, it’s unstoppable – just like 12 generations of real-life Unimog.

While playing with the Axial Unimog off-road RC was great fun, sadly the company has discontinued that model. This makes every deadstock sample out there collectible – if you can find one at all.

Then again, a quick search on eBay turns up a number of stores selling the parts piece by piece, meaning you can make your own.
