1969 Serro Scotty Vintage Camper And Nissan Figaro Make An Adorable Couple

Posted on

How do you make a pint-sized 1969 Scotty camper cuter? Parked the Nissan Figaro in front of it, making the Japanese retro-styled roadster appear to be towing a trailer. They’re the perfect match.

Scotty’s camper is adorable. The exterior features baby blue finishes on the top, window trim and propane tank mounts. There is a matching color scheme inside.

The interior has a small footprint, but there’s everything you’ll need for a camping weekend. The design fits perfectly with the late 1960s aesthetic. The refrigerator has thick handles. There is a metal trim on the table, and the light above it is the original gas unit which now runs on electricity. Stove and oven are original parts.

This Scotty is for sale but sold before this video was published.

To complete the cute tableau, Figaro looks to pull on Scotty. The owner has a Chevy pickup to actually transport Scotty.

With turbocharged 1.0 liter four cylinders making 75 horsepower (56 kilowatts) and a three-speed automatic, there might not be enough power for Figaro to pull the little camper at a safe speed on the highway.

A scrap of paper on the windshield claims this Figaro is a prototype model and has the skin from a Bentley. We cannot confirm how accurate these claims are. From the small parts of the car that we can see, this looks like an example of normal production spec from Nissan.

Figaro is one of four special models introduced by Nissan. Everything is based on the contemporary Micra but has a special style. There are also the Pao and BE-1 hatchbacks. S-Cargo is a small van that looks like a snail.

Figaro made its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1989 and sales began in 1991. It featured a folding roof that retained the side pillars so that the top was never completely lost. Production only lasted until February 1992.
