1977 Oldsmobile 442 Barn Find In Very Good Condition

Posted on

This Oldsmobile 442 has quite an interesting history but the gist of the story is that it has been sitting in a garage since 1993 when its engine started to fail badly. This is a 1977 model in very good condition and it’s finally time to see this muscle car pulled out of the garage and ready for a second chance at life.

Once all four tires have been inflated, the car is ready to be pulled out of the very old garage it has occupied for the last three decades. The 442 was parked a little off level with the garage door but people were there Crazy Madness managed to pull it out with almost no damage except for a minor bump on the rear bumper. Once the car is out of the garage it is evident that it is in excellent condition which forms a solid basis for future restorations.

Speaking of restoration, this vehicle will not be rebuilt right away. The team that rescued it shared in the video that they have plenty of other projects underway and at least once one of those is done this Oldsmobile can finally receive the attention it deserves. But before all that happens, it’s time for the first quick wash in about three decades.

So, what is the actual condition? Well, the good news is that not a single piece of the exterior is missing and there isn’t much rust around the body. The chrome bumpers, wheel arches and trim around the headlights all seem to just be in need of a good polish. Of course there are a lot of scratches on the underbody, but that’s to be expected from a car that was produced back in 1977.

The video ends with 442 parked at his new resting place. It will sit there for weeks or months, who knows, until it’s time for recovery. Will it shine like new? We hope so and from what we’ve seen in the video this particular car is an excellent base for an excellent restoration
