2024 Mercedes E-Class Shows Light Bar In New Spy Photos

Mercedes-Benz is expected to launch a new generation of the E-Class later this year, but work on the model’s development has not yet been completed. We have new spy photos of the mid-size model in sedan form test with camouflage covering the front and rear. While almost everything looks as expected, there is something we can get our first look at.

If you take a closer look at the prototype’s front fascia, you’ll notice the LED light strip between the headlights. This is definitely not the final shape and size as there may be tape covering part of the lighting bar. We don’t know if the strips connect to the headlights, but we suspect the layout will be similar to the EQC in that the lighting bars only span the width of the grille.

Everything else with this test car looks identical to the appearance of the previous model. The rear fascia is heavily camouflaged, although we know it will likely inherit design influences from the S-Class. Big changes are expected inside the cabin where the new E-Class will borrow several solutions from EQE, including a large display on the center console. Sources say the 11.9-inch display from the C-Class will be standard in the new E-Class, while the brand new 12.9-inch OLED display seen in the S-Class will be available as an option.

In the engine department, Mercedes is expected to bet heavily on electrification. Mild-hybrid technology is expected to become standard across the range and several hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants will be joining the portfolio gradually. Electrification is also part of Mercedes-AMG’s plans for the model, meaning there will be a plug-in performance version. We don’t know if there will be a V8-powered model, but we believe the E 63 AMG can borrow the S 63’s electric V8.

The debut of the new E-Class won’t be in a few weeks, but we have no doubt it will arrive in a few months. It is expected in the US market as a 2024 model.
