The last Cadillac convertible, the Cadillac XLR, was discontinued more than a decade ago, ending the era of the drop-top Caddy. However, it seems that the idea is still being kicked around, as sketches of a convertible concept recently appeared on the social media channels of Cadillac parent General Motors.
This one-of-a-kind rendering of the dark green Cadillac convertible features a rear three-quarter view, giving a good look at the vertical taillights and minimalistic rear fascia. Its metallic dark green hue perfectly complements the brown interiors for a luxurious and luxurious feel. The vehicle is low and sleek, and its profile closely resembles that of the Cadillac Celestiq, which will be fully unveiled in mid-2022. The resemblance is easily seen in the smoothly curved body lines that adorn the convertible’s flanks, and in the thin accent lines that run just behind the fender wells. front, located in the same place as the Celestiq’s charging port.
The Cadillac convertible sketch also bears a close resemblance to the Cadillac Ciel concept, which was unveiled at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. While we’re not aware of any plans to manufacture this Cadillac convertible, its design could influence the potential of future models. The Celestiq will only be available as a four-door fastback sedan, but considering this piece of automotive art closely resembles the luxury marque’s upcoming flagship EV, it’s certainly fun to entertain the idea of a drop-top variant in the future. .
