Cadillac Optiq Will Be (Surprisingly) Longer Than The XT5

Posted on

As previously reported by Cadillac Society, the first images of Cadillac Optiq’s upcoming luxury EV crossover recently leaked in China, showing off what’s in store for the latest addition to the luxury marque’s electric battery lineup. Set to be placed under the Cadillac Lyriq in the luxury marque’s lineup, the vehicle is expected to be the same size as the Cadillac XT4. However, a closer look at the exterior dimensions reveals that it will be larger.

The Optiq’s wheelbase measures 116.3 inches, allowing for an overall length of 181.1 inches. The vehicle will measure 75.3 inches wide and 64.7 inches high. That not only makes it longer than the XT4, but the Cadillac XT5 as well. Additionally, the Optiq will be 0.2 inches longer and 0.4 inches wider than the XT5.

See the table below for a comparison of the dimensions of the Cadillac Optiq with the XT4, XT5 and Lyriq.

What’s really interesting about the Cadillac Optiq is that its size suggests room for another crossover EV to fit underneath. While it’s unclear what this particular vehicle is, considering that Cadillac filed for trademark names like the Vistiq and Ascendiq, this as-yet-unknown compact model may have one of these nameplates.

As a reminder, Cadillac Optiq will use a variant of the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform, which currently underpins its big brother, the Lyriq, as well as the upcoming Celestiq sedan. The Optiq will feature a single rear axle-mounted Ultium Drive motor offering two power output options, including 150 kW (201 horsepower) or 180 kW (241 horsepower).
