The 10 cheapest cars
Dacha Sanderohas always been the cheapest petrol car on the new market in recent years, especially the Streetway version with 67 bhp 1.0 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. The approved fuel consumption is interesting, starting from a minimum of 5.3 l/100 km.
It has a price of 11,700 euros with standard 15″ rims, electric front windows, 5-speed manual gearbox, central locking and steering wheel controls. Equipped with DAB radio and bluetooth connection. The maximum boot volume is 1455 litres.
Mahindra KUV100is the Indian version of the Fiat Panda, but with a more SUV look and a length of 3.70 metres. The starting price is 13,995 euros, 1.2 VVT K6+ with 87 HP naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine. 5-speed manual gearbox and approved fuel consumption of 7.2 l/100 km. Standard equipment includes 15″ steel rims, five seats, manual climate control, electric front windows, DAB radio and Bluetooth.
Kia Picanto, the very small Korean 5-door, only 3.59 meters long. The price is 14,000 euro, 1.0 DPi Urban with 67 HP naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. WLTP average consumption starting at 5.0 l/100 km. Standard equipment includes Pop Orange colour, 14” steel wheels, 5 seats, manual climate control, central locking and height-adjustable driver’s seat.
Hyundai i10slightly more expensive than its cousin Kia, starting from 14,750 euros, but with the Eco-Pack version it aims for maximum savings. The very small five-door Hyundai reaches 3.67 meters in length.
It is equipped with a 67 HP naturally aspirated 3-cylinder engine mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The minimum approved consumption is only 4.8 l/100 km. The price includes 14″ steel rims, 4 seats, electric windows, manual climate control, cruise control, light sensors, automatic high beams and on-board computer.
Fiat Panda, the first Italian to enter the top ten. The basic price of a small 3.65-metre-long Italian five-door with mild hybrid drive is 15,400 euros. With 70 HP 1.0 FireFly 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and 6-speed manual gearbox. Consumption of 4.9 l/100 km. The “base” Panda comes standard with manual climate control, 14″ steel rims, electric windows, central locking, DAB radio with Bluetooth and four seats.
Another Made in Italy car is the Launch Ypsilon, which shares platforms and mechanisms with the Panda, including the mild hybrid. The basic price list for a 3.83 meter long five-door is 15,600 euros. The cheapest model is the Lancia Ypsilon 1.0 FireFly 70 HP Hybrid Unyca, which combines the 1.0 3-cylinder mild hybrid with a 6-speed manual gearbox. WLTP consumption of 4.9 l/100 km. Fitted with 15″ wheels, 7-inch touchscreen radio, manual air conditioning and electric windows, central locking and four seats.
Mitsubishi Space Star, a Japanese car equipped with 5 doors with a length of 3.84 meters. The base price is 15,950 euros and refers to the version with 71 HP 1.2 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine and 5-speed manual gearbox. The WLTP consumption of 4.5 l/100 km is the best on paper. It includes 14″ steel wheels, electric windows, manual climate control, light and rain sensors, central locking and 5 seats.
Volkswagen up!, the only model with a 3-door body and 3.60 meters in length. The price is 16,300 euros for the 3-door 1.0 EVO. The engine is a 1.0 L 3-cylinder petrol naturally aspirated 65 HP, with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Consumption is 5.1 l/100 km. It includes 15″ alloy wheels, cruise control, manual climate control, rear parking sensors with camera, four seats and the dock station.
MG ZS, the cheapest petrol SUV, with its 4.32 meters in length and 5 doors, is the largest in the list. With a list price of 16,340 euros, has a 106 bhp 1.5 4-cylinder petrol engine. Consumption is 6.6 l/100 km. It is equipped with LED headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, 10.1” touchscreen, 5 seats, central locking and 4 electric windows.
Dacia Duster, the second SUV on the list, with a length of 4.34 meters, 1.0 TCe 90 HP with 90 HP 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine and 6-speed manual gearbox. Consumption is 6.1 l/100 km. Priced at 16,550 euros, it comes standard with 16″ steel rims, electric windows, central locking, 5 seats, DAB radio and Bluetooth with steering wheel controls.
