New traffic lights are about to arrive in Italy, or rather some innovations that will have to do with both the new and the old traffic lights.
In short the new year is already giving gifts, incredible surprises for motorists who, however, do not seem to appreciate them in a particular way.
Anyone who drives a vehicle they must prepare for the worst because soon it won’t be possible to get distracted, not even a little. A small mistake could give rise to lethal, fatal consequences.
The novelty of traffic lights at intersections
The new traffic lights will make motorcyclists and drivers in general anxious. A major tightening on road safety is about to arrive, since accidents on Italian roadsthey are really too many.
The number of accidents has increased over the months, even significantly. There are too many motorists and motorcyclists who do not respect the stop sign and right of way at intersections, the red traffic lights, the passage of pedestrians and cyclists.
For these reasons, the time has come intervene and to do so in particular with the installation of traffic lights that leave no one a chance and that keep the road under control 24 hours a day.
How the new devices will work
The novelty undoubtedly effectively regulates the timing of traffic lights and pedestrian crossings. To express closeness to pedestrians and cyclists is the regulation established by the European Union 305/2011.
The European Union states that these two categories are increasingly victims of irresponsible drivers and for this reason we can do nothing but intervene heavily. The Minister of Infrastructure and Mobility has decided to introduce authorized devices on everyone pedestrian and cycle/pedestrian traffic lights.
The new directives have thrown road users into panic who, seeing the devices that have already been installed on some traffic lights, thought they would be monitored 24/7 using modern speed cameras.
In reality, these devices will not be speed cameras, they will be placed at the most dangerous intersections and will act as a countdown, to control the circulation and give pedestrians and cyclists the possibility to cross in peace.
At least for the moment, the modality is not clear, but those who do not respect the signal of the device will have to pay undoubtedly impactful fines. The device will probably adjust traffic light colors to reduce long waiting times.
This is an important detail pBecause every traffic light will act by itself and who knows if the traffic and inconvenience situation will not be resolved once and for all.
