Seat belts must also be in the back

As we have seen, the highway code obliges you to wear seat belts while driving, to protect yourself in the event of an accident. However, many are unaware that those behind, in the back seat, must also wear seat belts.

However, not everyone knows that this obligation does not only concern the passenger and the driver who are in the front part of the vehicle. Indeed Article 172 of the CDS states that the use of seat belts is mandatory for all passengers since 27 April 1989.

Therefore, all those who are on board a car must wear seat belts, even those who are in the back seat. Therefore your car must be equipped with it, otherwise you risk getting a fine.
