Many motorists do not wear a seat belt when driving
As known, motorists who drive a car must wear a seat belt, as required by the Highway Code. Unfortunately, there are many who do not wear it, either out of forgetfulness or perhaps out of annoyance, and risk being fined.
However, still with regard to seat belts, there is a detail of which many are not aware and which is often forgotten.

Seat belts must also be in the back
As we have seen, the highway code obliges you to wear seat belts while driving, to protect yourself in the event of an accident. However, many are unaware that those behind, in the back seat, must also wear seat belts.
However, not everyone knows that this obligation does not only concern the passenger and the driver who are in the front part of the vehicle. Indeed Article 172 of the CDS states that the use of seat belts is mandatory for all passengers since 27 April 1989.
Therefore, all those who are on board a car must wear seat belts, even those who are in the back seat. Therefore your car must be equipped with it, otherwise you risk getting a fine.
If the Your car doesn’t have seat belts in the back too and you are subjected to a check by the police, you risk taking a fine ranging from 81 euros to 326 euros. A tidy sum, therefore, that you can save by simply putting the seat belts on the back too!
