The Lamborghini Aventador successor continues development on the road. This spy video captures two of them testing. One of them has a production spec exhaust layout. Others have settings that seem more temporary.
The clip begins with the car exiting the gate. The successor to the Aventador wore loose white cloth over his body. The front overhang appears longer than the current car, but the general silhouette has that familiar Lamborghini wedge shape. A hole in the cover just behind the front door on the rear fender. At the rear, the engine features a pair of high-mounted exhaust pipes with hexagonal-shaped outlets. The taillight is next to it in the outer corner. The bumper appears to include a large diffuser.

The video only shows the back of another Aventador successor development vehicle. Instead of a hexagonal exhaust design, this car has two pairs of pipes that merge into one outlet. The rest of the tail looks the same as the other vehicles in this clip.
Previous spy shots show another exhaust design. The car has four coiled pipes coming out the back. It’s not yet clear whether Lamborghini intends to offer multiple designs for the outlet or if the different looks are purely for model development.
There’s also a photo showing a glimpse of the inside of the Aventador successor (see gallery above). It has a digital instrument cluster with a center-mounted tachometer showing a red line at around 8,500 rpm, a digital speedometer, display of driver assistance systems, driving modes, and more.
The Aventador’s successor still has a naturally aspirated V12 engine, but the powertrain gets plug-in hybrid assistance. This system is capable of propelling a supercar on pure electric power, but the range in this setup is still a mystery.
The successor to the Aventador will debut towards the end of Q1 2023, according to Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann speaking to ABC News. These times suggest opening may be in March. Even before the premiere, the Italian supercar maker reportedly had nearly 3,000 pre-orders. We don’t know yet when the first actual delivery to the customer will occur.
