We last saw the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 Coupe back in October last year, but at the time, the prototype was moving around the Nurburgring. Today we can share a new set of shots with you showing a static test car in Northern Europe. Our photographers on location had the opportunity to photograph the high-performance crossover’s interior, giving us our first glimpse inside the GLC 63 Coupe’s cabin.
In general, if you’ve seen photos of the new C-Class and the new GLC, you won’t find anything radically new in the GLC Coupe. However, the AMG-branded prototype has leather seats with yellow stitching and aluminum inserts under the headrests. The same contrast stitching is also visible on the door panels, center armrest and dashboard. Other than that, the interior is very similar to the GLC with a dual-screen layout and three circular air vents above the center screen.

Camouflage keeps most of the GLC 63 Coupe’s exterior away from our eyes, though there’s nothing to hide the quad exhaust pipes at the back. The oval tip integrated into the rear bumper hides the actual exhaust pipe as seen in some of the photos. Other notable design elements include an aggressive front fascia with an AMG-style grille and additional side steps not visible in previous spy photos.
Don’t let the quad exhaust fool you – there’s no V8 under the hood. Instead, Mercedes will likely install the factory new C63 four-cylinder there with electric support. The 2.0-liter unit features an electrically assisted turbo and rear-mounted electric motor to produce a combined output of 671 horsepower (500 kilowatts) and 752 pound-feet (1,020 Newton-meters) of torque in the fast sedan. Very similar if not identical figures can be expected for the new coupe-SUV.
There’s no official launch schedule for the new Mercedes GLC Coupe, but we’re confident that at least a regular, non-AMG version will arrive before the end of the year. The top-of-the-range 43 and 63 models could also launch in 2023 but don’t expect to see them before the last quarter of the year.
