Pecco Bagnaia goes down in history with his 2022 MotoGP title. Yet there is a surprise fact regarding his season.
Looking at the first half of the season, few if any would have seen in I’m sorry Bagnaia the 2022 MotoGP champion. In the second half of the season, however, here is the incredible comeback (91 points!) which is worth his second world championship in his career, the first in the premier class. The future will tell us if others will arrive… The fact is that the bishop Ducati he ate a crazy advantage from Fabio Quartararo, bringing the tricolor back to the top of the world. Yet there is a curious fact concerning the Piedmontese driver, more precisely the points accumulated during this season. One look for sure amazing.
Bagnaia 2022 or… 2021?
Just simply check the last two seasons to detect a situation probably waiting. Certainly 2022 has been the best for I’m sorry Bagnaia for having managed to take the MotoGP title. Let’s add as many as possible victoriesalmost double the previous year. But if we take a close look at his average pointswe can not say that we have seen the ‘better shape‘ of the Ducati champion. Yes, from Assen to Valencia we’re talking about an average of 18 points per GP, but there’s the first part of the season to consider. Thus we arrive at a surprising fact: the “2021 version” di Bagnaia accumulated an average of 14 points in GP, in 2022 instead it stops at 13.2! One would almost think that, hypothetically speaking of one “direct confrontation“, last year’s Italian would have beaten this season’s MotoGP champion…
Better and worse
One aspect that certainly doesn’t help him in this average is the number of accidents. He will have won seven times against the four of 2021, but i two crashes and resulting zeros from last year more than doubled, becoming five in this 2022! Let’s talk about one of the reasons why Bagnaia was really angry with himself “Bullshits which is not allowed to do”. But apparently she then found the best way to exploit that early season rage. Step by step emerged, took safety in himself and his means, launched towards the big goal. Scaring everyone, first and foremost the reigning champion Fabio Quartararo, who failed to handle at best the situation, also aware of the technical inferiority. Instead Bagnaia took courage and no one has ever stopped him. Now a new situation is being created, the Italian will put it to the test mental strength acquired in this 2022.
