Next Generation Mercedes-AMG E63 Sedan Shown In Unofficial Renderings

The next generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class is currently in development. Recent spy shots show the sedan variant ditching some of the camouflage, and styling changes are coming to the entire model lineup, including the hot AMG E63 variant. However, our spy photographers haven’t yet caught a glimpse of the high-powered performance model’s test, but a new rendering from our friend at Motor. es trying to predict what it will look like on debut.

If the regular E-Class test vehicle is any indication, the E63 will likely receive an evolutionary design update. This rendering shows off the performance brand’s iconic Panamericana grille, flanked by redesigned headlamps with distinctive new lighting, which we’ve already seen in the spy shots. This rendering connects the grille to the headlights with black trim, a styling feature seen on other Mercedes models.

Underneath the new face is a large lower grille flanked by large intakes and black trim. The fenders feature stylized vents above the badge that likely mentions the “E Performance” powertrain hiding under the hood. We don’t know what kind of engine the next-generation AMG E63 will carry, but it will likely be a hybrid like other AMG variants.

The AMG S63 E Performance debuted earlier this week, packing a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine and a plug-in electric motor. Total output is a staggering 791 horsepower (590 kilowatts) and 1,055 pound-feet (1,430 Newton-meters) of torque. At the other end of the spectrum is the C63 SE Performance, which provides an electric assist 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder for 671 hp (493 kW) and 752 lb-ft (1,019 Nm) of torque. Any engine can suffice in the AMG E63.

The end of the year is fast approaching, leaving little time for Mercedes to reveal the new E-Class. We predict the car will open the hood in the first half of 2023; however, we didn’t expect to see an AMG variant alongside it. Our spy photographers haven’t captured it yet, and Mercedes often reveals it months after the standard model has removed the lid. We could see the debut of the next-generation AMG E63 sedan and wagon before the end of next year.
