Nissan will recall 125,215 examples of the 2017 Rogue in the United States to fix an issue that could be a fire risk. The campaign relates to a recall from January 2022 to fix the same issue for 664,779 Rogue units from 2014 through 2016.
The newly recalled Rogues have a production date from July 26, 2016 to September 27, 2017. The problem is that water can leak into the wiring harness in the driver’s footwell, which can cause corrosion. This may cause a fire. This problem can also result in a fault in the power windows or the driver’s side power seat. The AWD warning light may also come on.

“Nissan is not aware of any accidents, injuries or thermal events related to this matter,” the automaker told Motor1.com.
To fix this problem, the dealer will check the wiring harness for corrosion. If there is, the technician will replace the necessary components. The process will also include applying lithium grease to the connector to prevent future moisture intrusion.
Nissan will start notifying potentially affected owners in January 2023.

Transport Canada, the national partner for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the US, found instances of wiring harness corrosion on the 2017 Rogue. Nissan investigated the problem from February to August 2022.
Nissan submitted a vehicle audit to Transport Canada in 2022. The company found four examples of 2017 Rogues with wiring harness corrosion – two in the US and two in Canada. An analysis of warranty claims showed evidence of an additional nine vehicles having problems. The company made a recall.
