Off-Road Corvair Wagon Finally Meets Its Partner In Snow Rescue

Posted on

No matter how big the tires or how powerful the four-wheel drive system is, no vehicle is immune to getting stuck. Even the best off-roaders have their limits, and Corvair of Matt’s Off-Road Recovery has finally met its match in deep snow. It was called upon to salvage a snow-covered pickup truck, but the quick recovery turned into a more significant, albeit manageable, project for the team.

The rescue proved to be a bit more challenging than initially thought. Corvair attempted to pull up beside the stranded Ford Super Duty in an attempt to get in front of him and pull him out. However, that’s not what happened. The Chevrolet was hurtling through the snow when it suddenly came to a complete stop in the snow, as stuck as a pickup.

Thankfully, a second recovery vehicle is on site. It stayed on solid ground and was able to connect to the Chevrolet, slowly pulling it through the snow and barely making it out before getting stuck again. The Chevrolet stalled so much a second time that the winch began to pull the Jeep over the road and into the snow bank, but a little finishing finally freed the Chevrolet for good.

Once Corvair was on solid ground again, it was eventually tasked with recovering the truck, but not doing the job alone. Both the Chevrolet and Jeep pulled the pickup out of the deep snow, which took some time to complete. The F-250 is a chunky vehicle compared to old Jeeps and vintage Corvairs.

The video shows that even professionals need help from time to time. Off-road vehicles are more popular than ever, and we’ve seen people stuck in some very unwanted places in the past. Vehicles not only have limitations, but also the skills and abilities of the drivers. Services like Matt’s Off-Road Recovery help get people back on the road when either one is crossed.
