Peugeot 2024 Facelift 2008 Peeked For the First Time

Posted on

During Peugeot’s E-Lion Day last week, the French automaker announced plans to deliver 2008 mild hybrid technology later this year. The 48V setup will likely arrive with a minor crossover mid-cycle facelift, which has now been spied on for the first time. Caught in the cold while resting between two test sessions, the vehicle had only camouflage on the rear. However, future prototypes are expected to wear camouflage on the front as well.

Dual exhaust tips suggest we’re dealing with a 2008 2024 Peugeot prototype equipped with a combustion engine but the 2008 e-2008 will likely undergo the same restyling. From what we can tell so far, the B-segment crossover has received redesigned taillights. The rear bumper looks more or less the same, although since the Stellantis branding covers it, there may be some adjustments that aren’t noticeable due to the camouflage.

Stuck late at night in Sweden, the test vehicle had halogen headlights instead of the optional full LED setup with three claw headlight markings. Peugeot also doesn’t cover the interior so that the cabin impression will carry over from the current model. However, history has taught us that a facelift usually brings changes on the inside too, so this 2008 may not have had it.

As far as under-the-hood modifications go, the mild hybrid model will be powered by a new generation PureTech petrol engine with 100 and 136 horsepower respectively. This output will be channeled to the front wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission combined with a 21 kilowatt electric motor. In addition to the extra low-end torque, 2008 will slash fuel consumption by as much as 15 percent.

The recent small EV by Stellantis has been upgraded and it’s likely the e-2008 will get an upgrade for extra range. Take the 2023 e-208 for example with an additional 20 hp for an overall total of 156 hp while torque remains the same at 260 Nm (191 lb-ft). The electric supermini now has a larger battery with a usable capacity of 48.1 kWh (up from 46.2 kWh) to travel 400 kilometers (249 miles) on a single charge in a WLTP cycle.

Peugeot will sell the 2008 facelift in the second half of this year.
