Pininfarina Introduces Ultra-Rare iPhone Case Inspired By Modulo

Posted on

More than 50 years since its introduction, the Ferrari 512 S Modulo Concept designed by Pininfarina continues to make an impact. As smartphones have become a necessity, the Italian design house wanted to keep up with modern times while seeking inspiration from the past by designing its first iPhone case, which was inspired by an award-winning concept car.

An iPhone case designed by Pininfarina was created in collaboration with Inkar. It adds to the Modulo-inspired elements we’ve seen in the past, most recently the five NFTs and the Modulo Concept stamp introduced in Italy two years ago. Better yet, these smartphone cases are pretty limited compared to the billions of Apple iPhone users around the world.

According to Inkar, it took two years to develop this iPhone case, which allowed details to be honed to the nearest 0.1mm. Design elements from Glickenhaus’ Modulo Concept are incorporated into the case, courtesy of Pininfarina designer Paolo Lugaro, notably with distinct car grooves and 24 unique perforations in the engine cover. Cases are made one by one in Italy.

The case is fully customizable, with five colors, two types of skins for the lenses, and ten dials made of leather, natural wood, carbon fiber, and aluminum available for customers to choose from.

There will be 99 cases that will be produced for the 13 Pro and 14 Pro respectively. Of these, only five come as an exclusive red-striped silver case, which has design elements similar to the red-lined side of the Ferrari 512 S Modulo Concept. Each case will come with an engraved serial number to note the rarity.

The price for the Inkar iPhone case designed by Pininfarina was not disclosed at this writing. If you’re interested, you can buy it starting December 1, 2022 via Inkar site.
