Pecco Bagnaia thanks Valentino Rossi
At the center of the spotlight was ours I’m sorry Bagnaiawho became world champion in the premier class riding the Ducati Desmosedici, at the end of an incredible season where by mid-season he now seemed destined to be second, at best. Instead he has recovered 91 points on the outgoing champion Fabio Quartararo and now aims to open a winning streak. “Winning the title was my dream, doing it with Ducati was the icing on the cake“, he tells Sky Sports.
This is the second world title for the Turin-born rider, after that of 2018 in Moto2. And the next step will be to win the third World Cup in his career. “We will have to show that we have learned from the mistakes of this season and start from the highest point. We have to keep calm, because we know that by working well and giving our all, we can achieve great results“.
A particular one dedicates the reserve to its master Valentino Rossiwho welcomed him into his VR46 Riders Academy for nearly a decade. Under his aegis he grew up, perfected his riding style, forged his character, trained in a competitive environment, gathered his wise advice. “I’m lucky enough to be able to spend a lot of time with Valentino, I know I’m lucky because I can ask him things that not everyone can ask him. He’s a fantastic person – concluded Pecco Bagnaia -, no one will ever be like him“.
