Marc Marquez attends the match between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. On the occasion, he talks about the next MotoGP season.
After a training session with his friend and driver Carlo Sainz, Marc Marquez stopped at the Cívitas Metropolitano to watch the big match of the Spanish Liga between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. The champion from Cervera was a special guest of the Spanish broadcaster Dazn before the kick-off and then assisted the Blaugrana in a 1-0 victory with a goal by Ousmane Dembelè in the 22nd minute.
The Repsol Honda champion took the opportunity to talk about MotoGP in full athletic preparation and one month from the first official outing of 2023, scheduled on the Sepang circuit, where the IRTA test will be held from 10 to 12 February. On that occasion Marc Marquez will finally be able to test the latest updates of his RC213V on which the Golden Wing engineers worked (and continue to work) during the winter break. And it will be time to test his real physical conditions after the four surgeries on his right arm.

Marc Marquez and Honda want to put an end to the difficult three years in the MotoGP class, with a 2022 that has given only two podiums to the team orchestrated by Alberto Puig. But the smile of the eight-time world champion who was immortalized by his brother Alex as he sings the Atletico anthem despite being a Barcelona fan is not missing. The ’93’ with a mischievous smile he brings a finger to his mouth and ask that everything be kept secret. But the video went viral after being posted on Instagram by his younger brother.
Before this amusing scene, Marc Marquez took to the sidelines where he talked about the upcoming MotoGP season. “I continue to trust Honda 100%, with them I have won six titles in the premier class… I am confident that they will make a good bike and my obligation is to prepare myself as much as possible to fight for the World Championship. We must all row in the same direction if we are to succeed“. After the Jerez crash in July 2020 and the four operations, Honda has lost its development compass and RC213V it lost ground to the Ducatis and rival bikes.
But the new challenge doesn’t scare Marc Marquez, who is looking for his ninth career world title. “We will try to get out of this hole we entered two years ago“. And thank you Jorge Lorenzo for the nice words he addressed to him a few weeks ago, asserting that the rider from Cervera is still on a different level compared to his rivals. “I learned a lot from Jorge… For me he was a reference as was Dani Pedrosa, as was Valentino Rossi. I was able to compete with them, I beat them, but above all I learned a lot from them“.
