The Bollo Auto must be paid with annual cadence. This driver tax is also payable if the vehicles are parked in garages and not used for a long time. This is a vehicle ownership tax. Therefore, whether you use or not use the car, it is always a good idea to pay the car tax. All historic cars, i.e. those registered for over 30 years, are exempt from paying the car tax.
Straccia Bollo Auto: in which Region and how does it work?
There are motorists from a specific Italian region who can benefit from the “Straccia Bollo Auto” discount. We are talking about motorists residing in Sicilywhich they will have until the end of February to regularize non-payments of the car tax without the application of penalties and interest.
What non-payments are we talking about? With this “Straccia Bollo Auto” concession, it is possible to fulfill the non-payments of the car and motorbike tax which expired between 2016 and 2021, without any application of interest and fines. The extension was previously set for November 30, 2022 and now with new legislative intervention, the Sicily Region has postponed the extension to February 28, 2023. This is good news for all motorists who have to regularize the non-payments of the much hated car tax.

The “Straccia Car Tax” facilitation has been positively received by defaulting Sicilian motorists who have not paid the car tax regularly over the years years 2016-2021.
