It’s certainly not a good feeling, but once the mistake is made there is little to do, you have to pay. Among other things, we all know that there are limits established by law within which you have to pay if you don’t want to have serious consequences.

When to pay a fine and how to avoid problems
In any case, if you receive a fine, according to Italian law you have 60 days from receipt to pay the amount due, without consequences of any kind.
Once this deadline has been exceeded, the amount increases, in some cases it is also foreseen confiscation of the vehicle or the suspension of the licence. If, on the other hand, you want to pay the fine but you don’t intend or can’t leave the house, you can choose to pay online from home without leaving.
The fines can be paid on the Poste Italiane website if the report was made by the Police or by the Carabinieri, or on the municipality website if the fine was signed by a municipal police officer. Alternatively you can pay by online bank transfer.
How to pay fines online, on the Municipality website or on the Poste Italiane website
On the municipality’s website, there is precisely the platform that allows you to pay the fines in a few minutes. You simply have to enter the data in the reserved area, then the vehicle registration number, the date of the report and the card number to pay the amount due.
Alternatively you can use the Poste Italiane service, for this you need to have an account. If you don’t have it, you have to register, it takes a few minutes to do so. Then you have to follow the wizard that allows you to pay without making mistakes.
In any case, you have to fill out a form by entering all the general information and then choose the payment method which can be a Postepaya MasterCard circuit card, an online BancoPosta account.
Alternatively there is the home banking service of your bank, this can be useful when you don’t have other payment methods. Anyone who can leave the house can do so at the betting offices, the tobacconists and the various Municipal Police offices of the municipality.
